<International Circulation>:  Please provide us with some introductory comments regarding the design， aims and applications of telecardiology.
    Dr Riccardo Cappato:  Telecardiology is more than a promise for the future since it is already a reality now.  There are now a number of centres which are developing and using this technology on a daily basis. The mission of telemedicine is to communicate information from your own possibly remote environment to the closest clinician who can interpret the information you are releasing and translate this into a fruitful clinical message.  Its applicability is through implantable devices such as pacemakers or fibrillators; so that continuous monitoring and interrogation of their changes in terms of characteristics function and efficiency will provide early warnings for checkups or substitution when required.

    Cappato教授：心血管病远程医疗不再是我们对未来的期许，它已经成为现实。目前有些中心正在开发并常规应用这一技术。心血管远程医疗的作用是将居住在偏远地区患者的信息传递给最近的医生，由医生来分析这些信息，把它转化为有价值的临床信息。心血管远程医疗的应用是通过植入起搏器或除颤器等器械，医生可以持续监测和查询器械的功能特点和工作效率，这有助于为检查器械或必要时更换器械进行早期预警。
